For this project I created album artwork for the music I produce and album release materials to promote my album. This was my final graduation project at Rocky Mountain School of Art and Design. All materials were displayed at their Summer Graduation exhibit in 2024.

Initial Planning
I knew early on this project was an opportunity to showcase the variety of skillsets and interests I have nurtured over the years. The album concept that felt appropriate in genre for my music was surrealistic and psychedelic. I started with a series of digital collages that utilized my photography to establish different acts in my music album.

The Album
Headspace
As the album itself was the grounding force for all other materials, I knew that establishing a visual style, typography, and mood would help with promotional material consistency. Once I had a song order in mind for the album, I took care to note the mood evoked and imagery that would fit in tone.

The Music Video
With a visual identity established, I had a framework to utilize for a music video. The video would utilize the digital collages of my photography and would need to be presented in a format that felt cohesive with the album's artwork and materials for the final presentation.
Displaying the Music Video
After much consideration, I decided on utilizing an old 1950s Magnavox tv set to display my music video. The beat up look in combination with the removal of all original components provided a good foundation to build from. Construction involved cutting plexiglass to size to create a Pepper's Ghost effect within the tv to display the video, assembling of botanicals to match the imagery shown within the album cover, wiring of LED lights for effect, lasercutting of acrylic for a building silhouette, and tech to display the video and play the music.

Additional Materials
To create a full assortment of promotional materials for display, I decided to create CD and cassette tape designs to accompany the 12" and 7" records created. Standees of the statue characters was an initial consideration and I felt utilizing a lasercutter would allow for precise edges and an abstract etch on acrylic. Cutting and etching on acrylic required precise use of the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator for the outline of the statues and additional photo editing to ensure contrast on the etched acrylic.
